WHERE THE PRESIDENT STANDS – AT 11:32 A.M. ET:  Mr. Trump seems to be stuck in a polling rut.  About 46% in Rasmussen for the last week or so.  We'll see if that changes by Monday, following the good economic news of this week, but right now the president, having engaged in some serious verbal blunders, is facing a few headwinds.   From Rasmussen: 

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Thursday shows that 46% of Likely U.S. Voters approve of President Trump’s job performance. Fifty-three percent (53%) disapprove. 

The latest figures include 32% who Strongly Approve of the way Trump is performing and 44% who Strongly Disapprove.

COMMENT:  The anti-Trump faction appears rock solid, at least at this point.  Here is a president who may be the most creative and effective we've had since Reagan, but, unlike Reagan, is self-destructive.  We can have an unlikely triumph in the making, if Trump can discipline himself, but we can see a tragedy instead.
